Today I have just finished reading a book called Wonder Struck and I decided to do a book review.
Ben is deaf in one ear, his mother has also died. He is feeling very alone even though he lives at his aunt’s house. One stormy night he sneaks out. Eighty three steps away is his house, the one he and his mother shared before the funeral.
Then he finds a book called Wonder Struck with red ink inside the front cover. It says, for Danny, Love M. Ben also finds a book mark with a phone number on it and he wonders if it might be a link to his long lost dad, who he never knew.
Ben calls the number as the storm is outside, lighting strikes the house and sends Ben to the ground.
He wakes up in hospital realizing he is deaf in both of his ears. Ben wonders about the history of his dad and so he escapes and travels to New York where he meets a friend called Jamie. Jamie’s dad works at the American Museum of Natural History – and this is where Ben discovers some links to his dad.
Rose is deaf and lives with her father and mother, movie star Lillian Mayhew, life is sad for Rose because she never gets to see her mum and she’s locked in her house, unable to life a normal life.
Like ben, she also runs away to New York where she meets an old friend at the Museum of Natural History. His name is Walter and he takes Rose to his house and takes care of her.
This book is over 400 pages, but it took me one day to read it because it has quite few pictures. Out of 10 I would rate this book 8-9. I would defiantly recommend this book to people who are 9 and up.

I loved your book reveiw, although it sounds a little sad. You must be a fast reader to finish 400 pages in one day (even with pictures). By the way, your wooly sheep eats quite often!

Hi Emma.
Great book report.
I have just got hold of this book, but I haven’t started it yet because I am currently reading 3 books at the same time, but as soon as I finish at least one of them I will start it, because it looks really good.
I like how the author tells the boy’s story in words and the girl’s story in pictures. It’s really interesting. The author is also an amazing artist, so the pictures are very detailed.
Once again, I think this book looks really good and I can’t wait to begin reading it!
Your friend,

Hey Emma
Your book report is great and really describes the book.
It sounds very interesting and an enjoyable read. I wouldn’t probably read this book though because I don’t like books like this.

Hey Siabhaon,
You certainly have to be quick with that book, and yes it was amazing to read. I do think that Teegan with enjoy that book.
My favourite piece of art work in that book, that it a very hard choice to make because all of the pictures and beautifully done but it would have to be the first picture in the beginning of the wolf as it zooms in, what was your favourite piece of art?
Hey Vicky,
Thank you, the book it quite interesting, the ending is just superb. Yes after hearing about this book I didn’t think it would be one I would read often, its quite hard to catch on in the beginning but you get the hang of it.
